Our History
The company was born in September 2012 as Vendor Network Management. Initially V.N.M. was a consulting and sourcing business specialising in the bottling and packaging industry.
In 2014, founder Aidan Gilbert, made the shift from consulting and sourcing to supplying. In his dealings with Gartech Engineering, an industry leader in plastics engineering, a platform was being developed for cooperation between VNM and Gartech. Gartech owner, Bob Garret, and Aidan recognised the need for another supplier in the industry who could supply top quality chains, belts and components as well as engineered plastics. Aidan’s experience and Bob’s facilities would be the perfect fit. What was missing was a dynamic manufacturer looking to enter the South African market. They made contact with Movex Industrial Innovations in December 2014.
Movex was a young company but whose owners and management collectively had an unequalled pot of experience in the chain and component industry. In May 2015 the Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Movex, Nico van der Klein, came to South Africa to meet with Aidan and Bob and other possible distributors. In June Aidan and Bob were awarded the Movex agency for South Africa and thus Movetech Conveyor and Engineering was born in September that year.
